Meet Alan Jewell.
Alan is the Owner and Craftsman for Jewell & Company in Oak Harbor, WA. He began woodworking in 1978 in the residential construction business doing framing, cabinets, trim work, flooring and decks. He then expanded his profession and gained experience with sheet metal, iron and concrete.
In 1993, Alan progressed into commercial construction where he was a foreman on projects primarily in aircraft manufacturing facilities, concrete ramps, landings and steps, demolition, and machine foundations. He also utilized his handiwork in office remodels, suspended ceilings and roof and wall penetrations.
Alan’s sincere appreciation for art and craftsmanship can be seen and felt in the genuine talent that he exhibits in his work. All throughout his career, Alan has brought smiles to faces and warmth to hearts as a freelance artistic craftsman, creating custom furniture, decks, lighting, landscaping, home improvement projects, decorative home signage and even graphic art.
His children fondly recall the countless memories of family meals, doing homework, and rowdy game nights on the handcrafted bench that he built for the dining room table when they were young. Alan loves spending time with his beautiful wife of over 40 years, Karen, and enjoys hanging out with their children and grandchildren every chance he gets. In his free time, Alan can be found admiring Washington’s marvelous scenery while out hiking, camping, fishing and kayaking.
